There was a little too much information on the show today from deep dark secrets to breast implant procedures, but all in all an entertaining and informative edition of Good Times with Mo…

On to the show’s highlights:

Deep dark secrets

Mo had this brilliant idea of asking the callers to phone in incognito and reveal a deeply held secret that may have been bothering them for the longest time…

A few callers called in with fairly typical secrets, a man who’s been cheating on his wife… A male caller who had a crush on Vince Hizon when he was twelve and who “ungayed” himself by brushing up on FHM and watching straight porn…

There was a disturbing call from a girl who had 5 abortions! Damn, that girl gave me the creeps… Please, if you can’t be good, be careful… Don’t get me wrong here, sex is a wonderful thing, but let’s be responsible for Pete’s sake…. All those babies killed… arrrggghhh

I think Grace gave the best secret away, when she shared the story of an acquaintance of hers who had two boyfriends at the same time… BF#1 was so much older than the girl who was in her 20′s while BF#2 was around her age… Well, the girl got herself knocked up by BF#1 who didn’t want to do the honorable thing… So what does desperate girl do? She tells BF#2 that she was pregnant and the child was his! Poor schmuck fell for this ploy, hook, line and sinker… Now they’ve been married for 6 years and the guy still doesn’t have a clue…

Hottest Celebrity Showdown Finals

It was as anticlimactic an ending if ever there was one with the  Finals of the Hottest Celebrity Showdown featuring the Dyosa, Anne Curtis vs. the regal Ms. Iza Calzado duking it out… The win was surprising not only because of its lopsided nature but by the fact that my man Mo was thoroughly voted down by the callers, the guests (Dr. Belo and Kho) and by Mojo and Grace…

Despite some heavy lobbying by Mo, Iza won call after call and his in-studio poll was a whitewash as well with his lone vote for Anne being rendered insignificant by the tidal wave of votes for Ms. Iza Calzado…

Eventually, my man Mo had to acknowledge the inevitable and declare Iza Calzado as the official winner of the 2008 Hottest Celebrity Showdown by the Good times show…

Congratulations Iza, you deserve it! So who said the contest was rigged? 

Of liposuction and tummy tucks

Dr. Vicky Belo together with her boyfriend and business partner, Dr. Hayden Kho, were the special guests on today’s show… Not really my cup of tea as I’m not very vain by nature…

Anyway, I’ll try to encapsulate what I could from all the promotional things said on the show, hehe…

First the plug, the Belo Medical Group is celebrating its 18th year in the business and is offering circa 1990 prices for liposuction services… P30K for the first section and P15K for other areas thereafter… So if you’ve been craving to lop off that tub of lard on your tummy, give their hotline a call… Offer’s good only till Dec. 31 of this year…

Acne faces and scars

Mo swears by a procedure called Fraxel which basically lightens or totally cleans up scars left by acne or childhood accidents… I heard the price was fairly reasonable so if your face looks like the crater of the moon after a meteor shower or your legs have all the coin denominations minted since the Philippines became a republic, you might want to consider Fraxel…

Celebrities and boob jobs

Mo asked our cosmetic surgeons extraordinaire to confirm his theory that 80% of showbiz personalities have had boob jobs… Dr. Belo said that figure was too high and it’s probably around 60%… She confirmed that Anne and Iza’s were real though… What a nice comforting thought… Somewhere, Baby Jesus is smiling…:)

Sagging boobs and breastfeeding

Dr. Belo also clarified the misconception that having a boob job will affect a mother’s ability to breastfeed her baby… or her husband…  She also said that their procedure is superior in that they place the silicone behind the muscle and not under the skin… or something to that effect…hehe

Another interesting trivia is that nearly 80% of her boob job patients are mothers who want to push up their sagging breasts after giving birth… such good news for Grace Lee…

Penile lengthening and sex changes

Oh yeah, they don’t offer either procedure, you’d have to go to the Calayans for the first one and to Thailand for the sex change you’ve always wanted…

Wow! Great show today… Lots of interesting topics discussed and some controversy generated by Mo and Mojo, hehe… But I’m getting ahead of myself…

Money Matters

It was early in the day and Mo raised an appropriate topic for all those kiddies on their way to school… The question of financial education (or the lack thereof) in the Philippine educational system…

Come to think of it, we do seem to have a dearth of financial management subjects in our school… Mo’s point being that 75% of the subjects we learn in school are rarely if ever are used in our daily lives… Subjects like Theology, PE, Home Economics and the dreaded Military Science are present but basic Financial management subjects are zilch… I’ve never taken one in all my years of schooling… Maybe that’s why we’re in such a financial state most of the time… Maybe subjects like Entrepreneurship, Personal Finance Management and Investing should be standard subjects…

What’s your take on this guys?

Pepsi vs. Coke

Mo had the ladies undertake a blind taste test of the leading soda brands, Coke and Pepsi, to see if they could identify which was which… It seems like a simple test, right? I mean we can taste both in our “heads” and differentiate them, right? Apparently, not so when you’re blindfolded…

Mojo got it right, whilst Grace who was oozing with confidence earlier on got it wrong, hehe…

Outrageous celebrity requests

My man Mo did some research and talked to some producers who’ve brought in some foreign artists and asked them about the most peculiar or outrageous requests that these superstars had… From Christina Aguilera’s request for some very expensive bubbly to Justin Timberlake’s request for an entire hotel floor reservation and doorknobs being wiped down with alcohol very hour, his list went from the extravagant to the bizarre… For more outrageous celebrity requests, check out this link…

However, there was one common request amongst the majority of the male superstars… Yup, you guessed it, women… I loved Grace Lee’s reaction, hehe… “What do they need the women for? Do they want them to dance for them or maybe to swim with them?” Oh come on, Grace! Seriously, I’ve watched my share of Korean porn and you guys can definitely get the jiggy on… I guess you truly are Filipina, our version of Maria Korea…

Mojo tried to slip a blind item on the listeners by telling a story about a famous R&B singer who was here in the Philippines recently and asked to be taken to Makati for some late night action… Apparently, the girl he liked refused to go with them… I’m just guessing here but maybe, just maybe, she was put off by the reputation of African American men… I mean he probably was a walking tripod…

Mo, irrespressible as always, said: “You’re talking about Brian McKnight, right?” Mojo invoked the Fifth Amendment, hehe…  I hope they don’t get into trouble for that.. Brian’s been a naughty boy, eh?

Hottest Celebrity Showdown KC Concepcion vs. Anne Curtis (ABS-CBN bracket)

And for the results of the contest that’s sweeping the nation… Top seeded KC Concepcion went toe to toe with powerhouse Anne Curtis… Now, I’m sure most of you guys thought that this would be a tight contest with Mo tipping the balance in favor of Anne as he’s never been shy in expressing his fantasies about the luscious Ms. Curtis…

But, surprise, surprise, the callers and the texters went for Anne Curtis with KC getting a single pathetic vote… Too bad, I would have wanted KC to have put up a good fight but this one was a whitewash…

I won’ t even tell you how our trio voted… They would have triggered a revolution if KC won, hehe…

Our resident Dyosa moves on to the finals to face the winner of the GMA bracket…

Iza and Rhiann call the show

The two lovely ladies competing for the final slot in the GMA bracket both called the show to lobby for some votes and I’d have to say both were very impressive… Classy and with just the appropriate humility to come off as sincere… Rhiann even voted for Iza… Mo said she was trying to play the sympathy card…

Oh and the website Mo was talking about was www.jailbait.com…

Hottest celebrity showdown Iza Calzado vs. Rhiann Ramos (GMA Bracket)

It’s the end of the line for one of these classy ladies and they certainly fought the good fight… It was a nip and tuck affair for both ladies with the horndogs voting for Rhiann and Iza surprisingly getting the vote of the DOM (Dirty old men) bloc…

In the end, it was Iza getting the nod of the trio and the listeners… It was really close and in total contrast to the KC vs. Anne tiff earlier…

Iza moves on to the finals to meet Anne Curtis… Congratulations!

Speaking of DOM’s, Mo did a hilarious impersonation of a DOM calling the show, hehe… I was laughing like a hyena and I had my earphones on and I looked like a jackass!

Tomorrow’s show

Aside from the finals of the 2008 Hottest Celebrity Showdown, tomorrow’s show will have Dr. Vicky Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho as special guests of Good times with Mo… They’re celebrating the 18th year of the Belo Medical Group and they’re offering liposuction services at circa 1990 prices… Yup, P30,000.00 to suck off that flabby midsection or that hanging buttline…

Funny show today with Mo causing a traffic jam in front of Boy Abunda’s billboard along EDSA near Robinson’s Pioneer… But I’m getting ahead of myself, here’s the show’s recap in its natural order:

Young Love

Early in the show, most callers are students on their way to school and a very young caller phoned in to a ask Professor Mo’s advice on her love problem…

Her young beau apparently left abroad after their brief relationship (less than a month) and she was heartbroken…

As adults we tend to brush these things aside but when you’re young everything tends to get magnified and you feel like it’s the end of the world…:)

It’s good though that Mo does take the time to talk to these young callers and I’ll have to say, he gives very sensible advice… Props Professor Mo…

Of Cruel Intentions and lost innocence

The topic then shifted to Grace Lee and how she lost her virginity… Apparently she was moved by the movie Cruel Intentions and the beautifully shot “love making” scenes in the movie… End result, cherry popped…

I’ll have to give it to girls though, they can weave the most imaginatively romantic stories around how they lost their virginities… For guys, it’s basically, wham bam thank you mam… I mean, being the horndogs that we are, we just can’t wait to lose it and I would say that the vast majority didn’t particularly care how they lost it, as long as they did it with a girl and not with their hands…

Sex Education

Do you still remember how you learned about the birds and the bees? Well, according to Mojo, his dad sat him down with his brothers and gave them a lecture about using protection with their girlfriends (Mojo was straight then)…

Both Grace and Mo studied in St. Paul and for Grace at least, the “evils” of pre-marital sex were taught in a rather gross manner with the showing of abortion videos… I mean that’s pretty gross with a video of the abortive procedure being shown to young and impressionable girls… I just can’t hang with that…

Mo showed a video to the two “girls” of a pretty graphic sex education video complete with an “insider” view of the act, and I do mean “inside”…

Mo said he’ll upload it somewhere… We’ll see… Though I hardly think it’ll inspire your libidos… But then again, you never know…

Hottest Celebrity Showdown (ABS-CBN bracket)

We’re nearing the end of our search for the most prestigious award in all of radio, Good Times’  Hottest Celebrity Showdown… Today’s combatants for the ABS-CBN bracket were both highly touted and predictably, the contest went down the wire with Lobo’s Angel Locsin taking on the Diyosa, Anne Curtis…

Now, Mo’s never made a secret of the fact that he thinks Anne is uber hot but during the early goings, Angel looked headed for a stunning upset with caller after caller voting for Angel Locsin… But in the end with Mo putting his foot down, the win eventually went to Anne Curtis… If I recall correctly, Mojo was for Angel and Mo and Grace went for Anne…

A lot of callers were pissed that Anne won but hey, it’s his show and what my man Mo says goes… It was Pacquiao-Marquez II close… and so Anne moves on to face the winner of the KC Concepcion vs. Angelica Panganiban showdown…

Boy Abunda Billboard

On to the billboard… Mo asked me to post the picture on the blog’s front page so that the listeners can check it out while they talked about it…

A lot of words were thrown around during the show (none were flattering) including last night wherein blog reader Carol said that the billboard was scary and could cause serious psychological damage to a child, hehe…

A listener texted in and said that there was a traffic jam along EDSA in front of the billboard during the show, hehe… Blame Mo Twister if you were late coz of the traffic…

A caller said the billboard reminded him of Pinhead of Hellraiser fame… But personally, I thought they were going for the Morpheus look as played by Laurence Fishburne in the Matrix trilogy… A gay version of him though…

And finally, to close the show we had the GMA bracket of the Hottest Celebrity Showdown with the classy Iza Calzado taking on the “whore hot” Ehra Madrigal…

I mean if the category was purely boner inspiring material this would be a no contest… I mean Iza Calzado is the girl you bring home to Mom but Ehra is the girl you  have an affair with…

Again, a close fight with other horndogs voting for Ehra and Mo, Mojo and Grace going with the classy Iza Calzado… It’s really a matter of taste and as I said it’s Mo’s show…

Today’s show was charged with electricity, I mean it could’ve been an aftermath of  last night’s thunder and lightning show, but it probably was because Mo’s brought back our favorite Forbidden Questions segment…

Anyway, before we get to Forbidden Questions, Mo did the 2nd round of the Hottest Celebrity Showdown with the top seed Marian Rivera taking on 8th seed Ehra Madrigal…

Mojo votes Ehra (they were classmates at UA&P), Grace votes Ehra, Callers, majority votes Ehra??? What’s going on here? Janice votes Marian (yes!) Mo argued for Marian saying that overall she’s the most popular star of GMA, she’s got a gorgeous face while not denying that Ehra has the hottest body in GMA… I mean Mo said that something trickles down his leg when he sees Ehra, what better endorsement can you get? But it was in vain… For some perverted reason Ehra wins this round, upsetting the top seeded Marian Rivera…

She moves on to the 3rd round… (where she’ll get whupped)

And to close the show, we had part two of today’s edition of the Hottest Celebrity showdown wherein fan favorite Angel Locsin took on the bottom seed, Kristine Hermosa.

Mojo went with Kristine, Grace went with Angel and Mo went with Angel… Callers went with Angel as well… You know, a couple of years back, I would’ve gone with Kristine on this but as Mo said, she’s not ageing well, I guess married life didn’t suit her… I also go with Angel on this one…

It’s a massacre, Angel wins this one by a landslide…
