The gang was finally complete today with our radio supermodel diva Mojo Jojo finally back from his vacation in Iloilo. I never thought I’d say this but I really missed Mojo and with him back, the show had a totally different energy to it… Great times!

Let’s look back at what happened on the show today:

Born again Christians

There was a fairly heated discussion early in the show about Born again Christians… Just a bit of a backgrounder, our Mojo Jojo has shown a strong indication that they’re not really his favorite people for a number of reasons but mainly because of their condemnation of homosexuality which naturally didn’t sit well with Mojo…

Mojo called them a “cult” and Mo asked him to repeat the word over and over again just to get him in trouble with Born again Christian listeners, hehe…

Best Boobs in Hollywood

Well of course after all that “pious” talk, Mo reverted back to his true self and decided to talk about one of the subjects nearest and dearest to his heart, boobies!. In Touch Magazine in the US recently released their top 10 list of the best boobs in Hollywood for 2008. Among the topnotchers were:

10.  Beyonce Knowles – nice booty, too…
9.  Megan Fox – Oh yeah, man! That scene in Transformers with her leaning over to fix the Camaro, sigh…
8.  Jennifer Aniston – Nah…
7.  Audrina Partridge – Check out egotastic.com, she’s whoring it up there…
6.  Katherine Heigl – Mo mentioned her breakout movie, “My Father the Hero” with Gérard Depardieu,  check it out, she was smoking hot in that movie…
5.  Lindsay Lohan – Nah, too droopy for me…
4.  Carmen Elektra – She’s old…
3.  Scarlett Johansson – Now, THAT’S what I’m talking about…
2.  Tyra Banks – she’s gone to Porkville, but her D’s are real…
1.  Jessica Simpson – WTF?

Best Boobs Among Local Celebrities

Of course Mohan couldn’t resist doing a local version of the self same survey but this time for local celebrities. However, as any true connoisseur would know, there are disagreements amongst even the horndogs on such a controversial topic:

Sorry but I couldn’t remember all the blessed ladies on the list because Mo went through it so quickly… And neither am I sure about the order:

10. Francine Prieto – definitely should not be at number 10, probably top 3 all time…
9. Rica Peralejo – too fake for me…
8. Grace Lee – #8 is kind of low for Grace with her D’s maybe because the twins are so rarely seen…
7. Angel Locsin – yeah baby… Darna anyone?
6. Angelica Panganiban – I’d switch places with Derek Ramsey in a heartbeat…
5. I missed one… :(
4. Katya Santos – Mo saw them up close and personal, lucky Mo!
3. Ehra Madrigal – some of the most perfect ones I’ve seen… and they’re au naturel….
2. Sunshine Cruz – one of my favorite squeeze off celebs…
1. Maureen Larazabal – again fake boobies but Mo’s right, the doctor who did this should be commended!

Some other notables who Mo failed to mention are Ruffa Mae Quinto, Jessa Zaragosa, Jennifer Lee, Ana Leah Javier (Hot babes) and a whole slew of others…

Freeloaders

A good deal of time was spent on discussing freeloaders… Especially relatives, siblings, cousins, uncles and aunts who rely on their well off relatives for financial assistance… In other words, Le Parasite…

My take on this is that yes, if we’re filthy rich we definitely need to share the wealth around but if we’re just okay, meaning not too rich and not too poor either, then we shouldn’t be the “HOST” to their “PARASITE”…

Some of these freeloaders are just too shameless, hehe… And the worst thing is that if you yourself are strapped for cash and cannot give money to them, they’d get angry with you and call you an ingrate… Geez, what’s up with that?

What’s your take on this? Do you have parasitic relatives you need to get rid off? I’d recommend Combantrin, it kills roundworms, tapeworms and other critters… :)

Himala again

Mo played for the 2nd straight day, Bamboo’s live rendition of one of the best OPM songs of all time, HIMALA for Mojo Jojo’s benefit…

It never gets old, and I wouldn’t mind if they added that version to their regular playlist… :)

Goosebump inducing indeed!

Hong Kong and Macau

The gang will be in Macau and Hong Kong over the weekend as part of Magic 89.9′s annual overseas trip for  regular DJ’s. Now isn’t that a nice perk… I wish all companies were like that!

Have fun in Hong Kong and Macau guys!

Categories Game

The lame game called the Categories Game made a comeback today for prizes comprising of GC’s courtesy of Fruit Magic… First category played was relatively interesting… Philippine dialects with Mo giving Visaya as a dialect… Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Visaya is a dialect per se… The dialects falling under Visaya I believe would be: Waray, Cebuano, Ilonggo, etc… Mo won this round versus the caller…

Second category was Philippine fruits with Grace Lee going up against another female caller… The caller was very good with such native delicacies as Duhat and bayabas being mentioned… Needless to say, Grace lost this one, hehe…

Great to have Mojo Jojo back… For all the bitching that Mo does regarding Mojo, I think the show is indeed so much better with Mojo around… He gives the show the “gay” touch which is just so funny…

Great times!

Good times with Mo (Manny Villar Episode)

Senate President Manny Villar

Senate President Manny Villar

Senate President and front running Presidentiable Manny Villar was the special guest on today’s episode of Good times with Mo… Today being a holiday, fewer listeners were probably tuned in to the show as our Muslim brothers observe Eid ul Fitr or the end of Ramadan…

I’m okay with episodes like this as it really enlightens us on what’s happening to the nation and we really do need to be more well rounded in other aspects of life other than wangs and non-virgin indicators… Now that I’ve gotten that bit of hypocrisy out of the way, read on for Manny Villar’s words of wisdom… :)

Early life

Senator Villar talked about his early life and it is a study on what changes hard work and perseverance can wrought in one’s life… Born under humble circumstances, being the son of a government worker and a seafood dealer,  Sen. Villar toiled as a seafood dealer and worked various odd jobs to put himself through college…

Armed with a sharp business acumen, he tried his hand at various entrepreneurial ventures including seafood trading before finally hitting the motherlode with various real estate ventures…

I do hope a lot of students were listening to the show and will draw some inspiration from his life… There is honor in labor and we needn’t be ashamed of working hard for a better future…

Okay, that was a bit too deep even for me, hehe…

You don’t need money to make money

Amongst the various nuggets of wisdom that Senator Villar dropped during the show was his belief that you don’t need money to make money… He stated that even with the barest amount of capital you could start your own business and providing you work hard and use common sense, you can grow that business to a profitable venture… Oh and don’t be afraid to lose the business, if you start from nothing and you lose everything, you’d just be back with what you started with anyway, err which is basically, nothing, hehe..

Makes sense, eh?

According to Senator Villar, Filipinos have been trained at an early age to think as employees, meaning that we prepare ourselves and our children to work for others… He emphasized that we need to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and teach our children to be entrepreneurs as well… Sounds like Robert Kiyosaki’s advice… :)

Less beauty contests more entrepreneurial awards

He also set our priorities straight in even small things like beauty contests… He said that we should focus more on rewarding and honoring entrepreneurs, fishermen, farmers and the like instead of superficial things like beauty during fiestas…

Sort of like having a Farmer of the Year award for the farmer with the highest crop yield and stuff of that ilk… Sounds logical and much better than holding gay beauty pageants… Sorry Mojo, hehe

C5 issue cleared

Senator Villar also took the opportunity to clear the issue about the alleged C5 double entry in the national budget. He explained that it was an accounting error and that he stood to gain nothing from the project as the DPWH will execute the project and he will not be in a position to touch the money in any way, shape or form…

I believe him on this one because the guy’s filthy rich already and he knows that he can make money legally and even more when he’s out of office… And I believe that he wouldn’t want to risk tainting his legacy…

Also, it sounds like a demolition job to me what with Villar at number 2 in the most recent SWS survey of presidentiables…

But then again, you’re old enough to make your own conclusions and I trust in the wisdom of my readers… :)

Indignation fatigue

Mo asked Sen. Villar about the real level of corruption in government and he sadly confirmed that it’s probably worse than what we believe…

He said that Filipinos have developed what he termed as “indignation fatigue”, meaning that we’ve become so inured to graft and corruption that it would take something really epic to stir us from our somnolence…

What you plan vs. what you’ve done

Manny was surprisingly witty and not as dry as I believed him to be… He stated that you can don’t need to be an expert in finance in order to run a business but that you should have a good grasp of basic arithmetic and street smarts… If you don’t have both, you could always become a politician… Ouch… :)

Another gem that he dropped which poked fun at the contrast between politicians and businessmen is that when you’re a businessman, you focus on results, meaning what you’ve done… In politics, you focus on what you plan… :)

He also took a subtle dig at one of his detractors… When asked about the C5 issue, he said that he was being lambasted by 4 people and these were all Presidential contenders (Loren, Ping and Mar) and one who thinks she is a presidentiable (Jamby)… Make of that what you will, hehe…

Mojo a snob?

A caller phoned in to relate a bad encounter with a local celebrity to “make sumbong kay Gumatay”… as Asia Agcaoili so eloquently put it… Unfortunately, the local celebrity in question is our very own Mojo Jojo… :)

Apparently, the caller went to the station with a friend and asked Mojo for a picture when Mojo took a cigarette break… Mojo allegedly snubbed our caller and just went to the fire exit to take a puff…

Of course, Mojo denied this and said that maybe the caller may have mumbled the request and as a consequence Mojo failed to hear him…

It was a case of HE SAID, SHE SAID… Anyway, I’d like to give Mojo the benefit of the doubt coz I don’t think he seems to be the snobbish type… Mo and Grace agreed that Mojo was not the type to snub a fan…

All in all, it was a good show and I look forward to Grace Lee’s birthday party tomorrow…

Till then, I’m out of here…

Good times on Studio 23 (Hong Kong Episode)

Good times on Studio 23 (Hong Kong)

Good times on Studio 23 (Hong Kong)

This is my second rewrite of this episode… My first try wouldn’t publish and somehow got erased… Drat! I’m thinking of getting my own domain and publishing there… :)

The Hong Kong episode was a travelogue and a pretty interesting one at that…

Octopus card

The show began with Andi and Mojo espousing the wonders and benefits of the Octopus card… Basically a swipe card for all your public transportation needs, it works in buses, the MTR and other types of public transportation…

Singapore has one as well and it’s really convenient… I wonder when we’ll have something similar in the Philippines… Oh well, we still have the calesas and pedicabs and I doubt if they’ll hook them up to RFID cards anytime soon… :)

Mongkok shopping

Grace and Mo had their own segment with Mongkok shopping being the focus of their spiels… Grace Lee with her encyclopedic knowledge of bags and shoes naturally gravitating towards the Ladies’ Fashion Market. My man Mo Twister went shopping for what’s nearest and dearest to a man’s heart… Athletic apparel and electronics…

Grace showed off her bargaining skills by haggling down some “jade” bracelets from HK$230 down to HK$150… Not too shabby, Grace…

Mo checked out some rubber shoes from ADIDAS and other sporting apparel…

A visit to the BC Mall then followed… BC Mall is one of the largest electronics shopping malls in Hong Kong and Mo gave a nice tip to viewers planning to visit Hong Kong in future… Check out the mall outlets with the letter “Q” in their signages, this indicates “Quality” and the Hong Kong Tourism Board guarantees that they have vetted the outlet and all its products are genuine… That’s certainly a comforting thought what with China just spitting distance away, the probability of counterfeit electronic products have gone up considerably…

Food, food and more food

Of course no visit to Hong Kong would be complete without tasting its world famous Cantonese cuisine… Forget your diets and indulge yourselves… Oh and please skip on the McDonald’s and Jollibee’s whenever you’re in Hong Kong, we have enough of them in Manila…

Ironically though, Grace took some sushi preparation lessons from a Chinese chef at SUSHI ONE and learned the rudiments of making soft shelled crabs sushi…

Meanwhile, Andi learned the basics of making beef noodles at an oddly named place, Cucino… Cucino is Italian for Open Kitchen… Must be one of those fusion places… They also serve pizza??? Hmmm, Italian Chinese? Odd…

Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum

The gang had some fun at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum with Mojo and Grace hamming it up with the  eerily realistic likenesses of famous celebrities…

Aaron Kwok

Mojo had some fun with the likeness of Aaron Kwok, a famous Hong Kong singer, who’s renowned for his buff body and singing prowess… Mojo tried to look down his pants, hehe…

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Grace Lee embraced Brad’s wax figure and declared ardently, “I wouldn’t mind having a scandal with Brad Pitt! But only with Brad”… Careful Grace, Angelina’s wax figure might haunt you, hehe…

US Presidents

Ex-President Bill Clinton and George “Dubya” Bush also got some airtime…

Yao MIng

China’s walking Great Wall, Yao Ming was also immortalized with a wax statue and boy was he freakishly tall… I mean Grace barely reached up to his waist… :)

Wushu

The gang tried their hand at learning the ancient Chinese martial art of wushu with a certain Master Wong (not Wang) teaching them some sick moves with sword and spear… Crouching tiger, Hidden dragon type of moves…

Mojo showed off his version of gay-kun-do…  It was hilarious, hehe…

Mo and the ladies were really bad, hehe… Not very well coordinated, I must say…

But it was fun watching them try… Great times!

Till next time, I’m out of here…

Good times on Studio 23 (Season Highlights) Part 1

Mo as the Hobbit King

Mo as the Hobbit King

With the 2nd season of Good times on Studio 23 nearing its end, the show’s producers decided to show a Good times special edition featuring highlights and lowlights from the show’s 2nd season…

Each host’s segment began with people being interviewed on their thoughts about each host…

Mo Twister highlights

  1. Pretty girl: “Mo, Twister, when I think of him, I think of the cute boy next door…”
  2. Guy1: “Ang cute…”
  3. Girl: “Pogi…”
  4. Mojo’s sista: “Cool siya”
  5. Weird guy: “Malupit yun, maswerte sa lalaki” ???
  6. Guy with glasses: “He’s kind of misunderstood because people find him too blunt…”

Mo’s Boracay highlights

During their Boracay episode, Mo plans something diabolical against Mojo… “I’m gonna henna a penis on Mojo’s back…” Too bad he didn’t get to do it, that would have been hilarious… Now that’s what I call a threesome! Get it? Nevermind, hehe…

As they were selecting designs for henna tattoos… Andi picks out a design of two pigs in a compromising position… Mo quips, “this one’s Mojo and the other one’s Uma Khouny…” :)

Shift to the Boracay hotel scene where Mojo and Grace try to convince Mo to take a dip in the pool but my man Mo was too busy watching NBA basketball in the room’s humongous LCD screen… Grace offers to take her robe off and show off the twins in her bikini…Well with an offer like that, how can I guy refuse?

Still in Boracay, the gang visits the “Hobbit House” branch in Boracay and the hobbit servers hail Mo as their “King”… King Mo, the Yao Ming of the Hobbit House bar tries his hand at singing a ditty… Hate to say this man, but you should really stick to your other talents, hehe…

Mo’s Ocean Adventure highlights

Well, I’m not really sure you can call this a highlight… I should say it’s more of a lowlight, hehe… You see, during Mo, Mojo and Grace’s tour of the aquariums in Subic’s Ocean Adventure, my man Mo lets a huge fart rip… It was so loud the microphones picked it up… I don’t know what Mo ate during the trip but the smell was so bad Mojo started tearing and gagging, hehe… It was too funny!

Mo: “Yeah, that’s my own kind of venom, just like a lionfish!” Good times!

Mo’s PNP misadventures

As I blogged in a previous episode, Mo and Mojo went to Crame and took a lie detector test and worked with some PNP sketch artists… I forgot to say then they both had their mug shots taken… I’ll give you five guesses what AKA’s they took and the “crimes” they were accused of… :)

Well for Mojo, it was “Gene A. Cole” and his crime? “Illegal entry”… I’ll let you make of that what you will, hehe…

Mo’s alias was “Michael Langot” and his crime was “Treason”… hmmm…. :)

My man Mo Twister was still in Hong Kong so it was Good times without Mo for the second straight day…

Still, I appreciate the efforts of Mojo and Grace Lee to keep the show as entertaining as possible… I know that they receive a lot of flak from the texters that the show sucks whenever Mo’s not around but from what I heard the past two days, they’re getting better at carrying the show whenever Mr. Twister isn’t around…

Admittedly, there are some stretches of the show wherein it does get quite droll but overall it has gotten better… Perhaps a little more preparation and research is all that’s needed on the part of Mojo and Grace to bring the show to a higher level…

Anyway, on to the show’s highlights…

Liposuction and Reductil

In a seeming continuation of the previous day’s discussions about Mojo threatening to blow up to elephantine proportions, there was quite an extensive discussion on the merits of liposuction and other weight reducing options like the slimming pill “Reductil”…

A number of callers chimed in with their prescriptions for weight loss including Chinese medications and Bangkok pills… Quite dangerous if you ask me… I’ve never seen Mojo in person but from what I’ve seen he’s really not even borderline obese… Although Mo loves to mess with him and we fans just lap it up, hehe…

Snatching

A caller who went to visit the station yesterday (For Top 5 at 5), had his necklace snatched along the same elevated walkway where a technician of one of Magic 89.9′s sister stations got killed last year…

Poor guy, one of the bystanders who happened to witness the incident even laughed at him… tsk tsk…

Maybe we’ve become too inured to crime that we just take it all in stride… :(

Of course, the police was basically useless in situations like these… Another thing we take in stride… :(

Lucifer calling

A caller who I think was trying to enliven the show called up and introduced himself as Lucifer or Lucio for short, hehe… Funny thing, he was trying to be funny but his parody of a demonic showbiz reporter wasn’t that funny… I think he was trying to channel Mo’s favorite showbiz reporter, Cristy F*ck*n Fermin…

His joke’s punchline depended on a word which both Mojo and Grace couldn’t understand… Sulsultant? The joke just went over Mojo and Grace’s head…

The only thing funny about the caller was his accent (which he claimed was Italian)… Mojo’s take on his accent? Count Dracula with a Visayan accent (think Annabelle Rama)… :)

Edward Cullen and Twilight

Speaking of vampires, Grace is currently obsessed with reading the Twilight series which we wrote about in a previous blog… Edward Cullen, the hero of the series is her dream boyfriend, hehe…

Mojo piped in that the good thing about having a vampire boyfriend for Grace is that she’ll get to stay out of the sun… another Grace Lee obsession… :)

Made up words

Mojo came up with words which he made up and I quote:

NEGA – defined as feeling negative about a certain situation… Example: Hay, the texters are all so nasty, I’m feeling NEGA na… :)

BELOFY - defined as enhancing or improving a person’s appearance through the cosmetic magic of Dr. Vicky Belo… Example: My tummy is so fat na from eating all that steak, I need to BELOFY my tummy na…

See? The show wasn’t that bad, right? At least you learned two new words, eh?

Up next, Tuesday’s episode of the Good Times show on Studio 23…

Till then, I’m out of here…

Good times!

I thought that there would be slim pickings today with the show missing our man Mo Twister who flew to Hong Kong this morning to interview singer-song writer, John Legend, but the two “girls” did a good job… Props to Grace Lee and Mojo Jojo… Now on to the show’s recap:

St. Scho girls

The booth was packed with St. Scholastica girls who were on tour of the various radio stations in Paragon Plaza and they provided a nice backdrop for the show today…

Nothing like a bunch of teenage girls to perk you up in the morning… :)

Mojo’s superpower

Somehow the conversation went to fairies and superpowers and I had a good chuckle as Mojo said that if he ever had one, his superpower would be flower power… He could summon up flowers and make them grow on demand…

Imagine Mojo flitting around Metro Manila and making flowers sprout in all the pink urinals and the equally crimson elevated walkways of Metro Manila… He’ll be hired by Bayani Fernando for sure! :)

The man who can’t be moved – The Script

There was a funny moment also when Grace said that Mojo had put on a lot of weight since their trip from Hong Kong with Mojo gorging on that yummy Chinese food with lots of MSG, hehe…

To steer the conversation away from fat jokes, he chose to play the song “The man who can’t be moved” by The Script… Now if that isn’t a fat song, I don’t know what is… :)

Songs and Greetings

Speaking of songs, with Mojo manning the board, I counted two Madonna songs and a lot of dance music which Mo absolutely despises… That’s another indication that Mo’s not around, if you catch the show in mid-music, try listening to the songs, if it isn’t by Coldplay then Mo’s not around… :)

The sneaky callers also took advantage of Mo’s absence by greeting their relatives, their friends, their ex’s, their pets, their imaginary friends, their mistresses and even Kokey… :)

There was even on-air giving away of phone numbers by provincial callers… Mo would’ve killed the callers or texters who even suggested that, hehe…

Mean boss or mean co-workers

A caller tried to introduce a topic wherein he asked Mojo and Grace their preference of either having a mean boss or having mean co-workers… Both chose the latter option…

I would have to agree… But then again, your boss can make your life a living hell…

What about you guys? Your thoughts?

Don Francis prank

Regular caller Don Francis, tried to pull off a fast one by impersonating a man’s man on the show… You know the type, deep husky voice, with heavy breathing… Sort of like Brando Branganza before… Long time fans would know what the hell I’m talking about…  :)

But Grace made him… I think she’s on hyper alert after being punked by Mo some weeks back, hehe…

Anyway, good try Don…

Listener visit contest

Another caller contributed to the show by suggesting that the trio hold a contest wherein they invite their respective fans to the show and the loser with the least number of fans showing up has to date whomever the winner wants… Imagine the possibilities!

Mojo was worried that he’d lose this one… I’d have to agree, hehe… Just judging from the results of the hilarious “Who knows Mojo Jojo?” segment… :)

All in all it was a good show… Good job Mojo and Grace!

Next, I’ll blog about last night’s Good Times on Studio 23 show…

Till then, I’m out of here…

Good Times on Studio 23 (Krav Maga Episode)

Screen cap of Good times on Studio 23

After last week’s Good times on Studio 23 Surfing Episode, I thought the gang would be hard pressed to present an even more entertaining episode for this week… Well, all I can say is that last Tuesday’s Krav Maga episode was better, if only for all the groping and lesbo action that went on, hehe…

Krav Maga

Krav Maga, for those who’re scratching their heads wondering what the hell I’m talking about, is a military hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel, which assumes no quarter will be given, and emphasizes maximum threat neutralization in a “real life” context. Translation: I’m gonna hit you where it really hurts (ouch, ouch and ouch)… :)

Mojo, Grace Lee and Andi9 were the hapless trainees for Krav Maga (Mo was absent for some reason though he appears later in the show). The show starts off with Grace Lee rupturing my eardrums with screams during a simulated snatching situation and Mojo instead of running hugs the snatcher/hunk… Easy on the screams Grace… Seriously, Grace, you don’t need Krav Maga, just scream at the bad guys and they’ll head for the hills… My head hurts…  :)

Mojo and Grace interviewed the Polish Krav Maga instructor with an unpronounceable surname…  Believe it or not this guy looked liked Jesus Christ (again)… If you recall, in the last surfing episode the surfing instructor also looked like Jesus… Coincidence?

This show had a lot of boob groping action and it’s too bad Mo missed the action! Check out the pics below.. :)

Boob grope #1

Anyway, on to the juicy bits, the instructor had the trio and other students try to lightly hit their partners with an open palm… Smack, smack, oopppsss… Andi smacks Grace’s twins… Scream, ouch… :)

Boob grope #2

Andi vs. Mojo… Poke, poke… Mojo pokes Andi… :)

Pop the twins

The instructor had our trio run around in various exercises, including a wooden knife tagging exercise with Grace running around covering the twins and naughty Andi trying to tag the twins with the knife… Tut, tut, Andi, the show wouldn’t be the same without the twins… No wonder Grace ran around with both arms crossed on her chest… :)

Mojo gropes the student

Mojo introduces two students who were to illustrate defense against a rape situation… Mojo points out that the guy has a cup to protect against knees or kicks against the groin area… Unfortunately, the guy wasn’t wearing a cup and he “inadvertently” gropes the guy’s wang… “Ewww…”

Boob grope #3

Mojo and Andi simulates the above rape situation with Mojo as the rapist and Andi as the victim… Mojo was asking for a guy volunteer but Andi insisted that Mojo act as the rapist… Mojo closes his eyes and pretends to choke Andi, ehmmm, unfortunately, his hand goes through Andi’s twins before landing on her throat… Lucky Mojo! :)

Mojo and the lesbians

After the aborted Mojo vs Andi rape scene, Mojo asks Grace to take his place as Andi’s rapist and there was a fun moment as Grace straddles Andi… Mojo was like a porn director directing a porn video titled “Mojo and the Lesbians”… Down boys! :)

Boob grope #4

Andi mounts Grace and Grace applies Krav Maga moves, hiyaaa… Oooppss… Grace inadvertently gropes Andi’s twins! :) Told you this show had a lot of groping action…

Mo undergoes Polygraph Test

Finally, our star makes an appearance, though why he wasn’t part of the groping action is beyond me… Oh well, you can’t win them all…

Anyway, Mo and Mojo go to the PNP headquarters in Crame and tries to beat a polygraph machine… Unbeknownst to the polygraph examiner, Mo used to work for the police department in the US and he knows how polygraph machines work… The twist is that he’s supposed to lie on purpose and see if the machine catches him in a lie… :)

On to the questions:

  1. Were you lying when you said that you didn’t pleasure yourself to a Maui Taylor video? Ans: NO
  2. Were you lying when you said that you didn’t love Mojo Jojo? Ans: NO
  3. Did you ever cheat on any of your girlfriends? Ans: NO
  4. Were you lying when you said that you’re not frustrated with your “length”? Ans: NO

So which one was a lie? Yup, the 3rd answer was a lie… Mo had admitted to having cheated previously on a girlfriend… I could’ve sworn he was lying on the 4th question though, hehe…

So, did he beat the machine? Hmmm, the polygraph examiner noted a hesitation on the 3rd question so the findings were inconclusive… Great job Mo!

Sketch artists

Finally, Mo and Mojo described each other to PNP sketch artists to see which one came the closest to arriving at a facial match… Mo’s description of Mojo was hilarious… Very wide nose, fat neck, double chin with a facial shape for gays… :) The final product was a very close match to Mojo’s face but of course Mojo begged to differ… :)

Mojo’s sketch of Mo looked like Cristy Fermin and of course Mo couldn’t resist a dig at the Good times show’s Public Enemy Number 1.

Mo holding up the sketch: “Cristy F*ck”n Fermin, Ladies and Gentlemen… For biased and false chismis broadcast everyday…”

My man Mo Twister was out today due to illness… I know that Mo’s the consummate professional so he must be sicker than a dog to miss the show, so it was only Mojo, Grace and Miguel doing the Good Times show… The show itself was relatively quiet… It was feel good Monday, from the callers to the hosts, everyone was a little too nice…

You know that Mo’s out when there’s less talk and more music, not to mention a ton of plugs and commercials… Although I know that Mojo and Grace were trying their best to keep the show entertaining, it just wasn’t quite there… Even the phone lines weren’t that busy, I guess it’s hard for the listeners to contribute if there’s no specific topic being discussed, mostly it was just hi’s and hellos… Sorry guys, just being honest here…The good thing about Mo is that he always comes to the show prepared, with research and notes on what topics are to be discussed for a specific day…

While the show was just okay, Miguel’s interview with “Avril Lavigne” in the playground was hilarious… I mean this guy has a serious future in broadcasting… Bright and articulate, he’ll definitely go places… Some more years of mentoring from Mo and he’ll be hosting his own show on Magic!

Other hightlights were two female callers from the US with weird accents (heavy Visayan?) and though they seemed genuine callers, a lot of the listeners thought they were pranksters out to make fun of the trio… Although I wouldn’t put it past Mo to have thought of the prank and have them call in, hehehe… Caller Khalesh suggested that they would make a perfect foil to Nonoy the Menggoy and they could do a recital of a Shakespearean play… MacBeth would be perfect or perhaps Romeo and Juliet? :)

Oh by the way, the new word that Mojo learned in Bacolod? It’s “agi” meaning gay! :)

On a more serious note, I “just happened” to switch to Showbiz  Central and heard the news that Mo’s daughter Moira with Bunny Paras is ill from a neurological disorder and has been having some problems walking… I felt sad when I heard the news and I hope that Mo’s daughter gets well soon… Our prayers are with you and your daughter, Mo…

Well I hope that Mo’s well enough to work tomorrow, our favorite radio show is not quite the same without him…

Get well soon Mohan!

Up next, the greatest moment on radio!

I’m out of here…

Good times!

Good times with Mo (Sept. 3, 2008)

The show was relatively quiet today, nothing too controversial… :)

Best battle speeches

Mo started off with a debate or poll on the topic of which movie had the best or most inspiring battle speeches. He narrowed the choices to:

  1. Gladiator
  2. 300
  3. Lord of the Rings
  4. Braveheart

Grace liked 300, Mojo liked Gladiator while my man Mo picked Braveheart. I thought for sure that Mojo would go for 300 just for the sheer number of ridiculously toned abs in that movie… :) I’d have to concur with Mo though that Mel Gibson’s role as William Wallace is outstanding and his battle speech makes one want to pick up a sword and charge into battle. There’s something quite visceral and intensely personal about sword and shield battles which simply cannot be matched with today’s modern shoot-em-ups…

Rich girls dating poor guys

Another interesting topic thrown around by Mo is his theory that rich girls don’t date poor guys. He believes that the reverse is quite common, meaning, poor girls, particularly good looking ones, do date rich guys…Poor Grace served as the butt of Mo’s jokes this time around, with him implying that she was a high maintenance girlfriend… Grace’s boyfriend is a businessman (read – rich)… :)

Several listeners called in to disprove Mo’s theory, including a hot sounding girl, SAM, who claimed to be well off and had dated a couple of poor guys. She cited several problems which led to her breakups with the poor guys, including socializing problems, meaning the guys felt out of place in the girl’s circle of elitista friends… Another cause of dissent were the guys’ insecurity about money matters. I think realistically speaking these are issues which may crop up in a relationship of that sort…

Funny thing though was that the girl, SAM,  was very aloof and seemed indifferent to Mo’s questioning which really drove the Professor nuts… I mean, I was counting the seconds till he’d hang up on the girl and tell her off but for some reason he couldn’t do that… The girl was too interesting and she seemed totally honest about her experiences… Our Professor Mo being bested by a girl? No way in hell, but that’s what happened, hehe.. Kudos to SAM!

Voiceover king dies

You’ve heard his voice in hundreds of movie trailers but you probably never even knew who that “voice” was… His name is Don LaFontaine and his famous opening line “In a world where…” opened countless movie trailers from the hottest movies to piss poor flops. You can read the story here.

I got a good chuckle when Mohan Gumatay nominated “NONOY the MENGGOY” as a replacement for Don LaFontaine… Imagine the upcoming “Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince” movie trailer being intro’d by NONOY… Sheeshh… Good times!

Paul Potts interview

The show’s highlight would probably be Paul Potts’ interview done by Grace Lee and Mojo Jojo. The guy is amazingly talented and his story is truly inspirational. Let’s be honest, Paul Potts is not much to look at but once he sings, you’ll forget all about his looks. Now, I’m not the biggest opera fan, but watching and listening to Paul Potts singing transcends musical preferences and boundaries. As Simon Cowell said, he loves shows where an ordinary guy blessed with extraordinary talent does good…

I’ve posted a video of Paul’s audition above on the British reality show, Britain’s Got Talent and I’ll let you be the judge… Paul will be performing here in Manila at the PICC Plenary Hall, October 8, at 8 in the evening…

If you want to listen to Paul’s interview this morning on the Good Times show, I uploaded an excerpt which you can download here

Till next episode…

I’m out of here… Good times!

Above is the actual photo of the plane used in the Vaclair Commercial…

NOT, hehe… For those listeners who failed to catch it, my man Mo aired a commercial on the Good times show “purportedly” done by Chico and Delamar of RX93.1′s morning show. It was freaking hilarious! ROTFLMAO!

Background – Mo and Andi9 have a series of commercials for SM supermalls wherein they promote the usual 3 day sales in selected SM Supermalls… I’m sure you’ve heard this…

Being commercials, they would normally run in all the other radio stations cause that’s just the nature of the business. Mo and Andi here are commercial talents for the aforementioned commercials… Apparently, these commercials ran on the competing morning show of Chico and Delamar on RX93.1 and this allegedly pissed off Chico and he asked management to move the commercial spots on their show to the other shows of RX. Eventually, however, it was taken out from all the shows on RX…

This news eventually found their way to the omniscient Professor Mo and boy did he have his revenge… You know our Mo Twister with the twisted sense of humor? Well he brought out the big guns! hehehe

The “commercial” he “aired” yesterday on the Good Times show was too funny and it’s kinda hard to put into words…. I’ll see if it’s online and post it here…. You have to hear it to appreciate it… :)

Till next time!

Good times!

UPDATE: The Youtube video of the Vaclair commercial was taken down but the good news is that its up again! Please check it out here
