Hi guys, as stated in the preceding blog, I’m currently travelling and due to the time difference I can’t update my blog as I usually do, please bear with me guys…
Thanks to Tonting for the recordings though… I’m using that as reference for my blog, I know it’s not the same but that’s all I can manage for now guys… Hope you understand…

Ninongs and Ninangs

It’s 25 days till Christmas and talk drifted to the subject of Ninongs and Ninangs… Mojo has around three and Grace has the same number while Mo doesn’t have any at all…

He’s glad that he’s not sociable which is why he doesn’t have any inaanaks… That’s really weird though, I’ve never met anyone who’s Catholic and reached Mo’s age without having a single inaanak! I’ve even known born again Christians standing in as ninongs for their Catholic friends, hehe…

Mo’s take is that people nowadays select the prospective ninongs and ninangs based on their standing in society. Meaning, how famous you are, how rich you are, or if you’re a politician… Originally, I believe godparents were chosen based on their values and their ability to act as secondary parents if ever anything should happen to their godchild’s real parents… I don’t know if this still happens, hehe…

I also noticed this trend though that children to be christened have an army of godparents occasionally up to 20 ninongs and 20 ninangs… I mean the supposedly one page invitation extends to two pages due to the sheer number of godparents… I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase… “Ginawang negosyo yung binyag…”

What else is new? No one’s ever heard of Mojo Jojo, hehe… Of the three random numbers dialled by Grace, Only one was polite enough to listen to Mo and two of them dropped the phone, hehe… Sorry Mojo!

World War 2 trivia

Mo wanted to prove a point, that women don’t know anything about history or at least they’re not as fond of it as we men are… And so he decided to ask Grace Lee such raphsody-inducing World War 2 questions such as:

1. What countries comprised the Axis powers? I thought for sure Grace would get this one… The answer of course is Germany, Japan and Italy… Grace answered Germany, Japan and the Soviet Union…
2. What do you call German tanks? She drew a blank on this one… They’re called Panzers…
3. In what country did the invasion of Normandy occur? Of course the answer is France…
4. What do you call the German subs? U-boats
5. What was the most notorious Holocaust camp run by the Germans? Ans: Auschwitz with several million Jews killed…

Point proven, hehe…  Grace got zero…

Female Urologist

Dr. Frances Bragais, one of only four female board certified urologist in the Philippines guested on the show and provided a lot of fun on the show! Cool doctor… I wouldn’t mind dropping my pants for her…

Callers named Wang, Willy, Johnson, Dick, Richard and other phallic names were bombarding the lines and asking all sorts of wang related questions…

Can you change its size by “working” it? Answer: No, you can’t whack off as many times as you want and it won’t change perceptibly…

Is wang size directly proportionate to the size of the feet? Ans: No… Mojo had a great quip: He even saw one from someone without feet, hehe… Good one!

This question I loved from a lady caller: Are there nutritional benefits you can get if you swallow instead of spitting? Ans: It’s rich in fructose but the amounts are negligible, thus, even a diabetic gay guy can “swallow”, hehe…

Mo loved this question so much that he asked the lady caller to go to the studio at once, hehe…

I loved some of the callers who “pretended” to be calling for someone else when it was so obvious they were asking the question for themselves… This was often in the realm of STD and other more embarrassing situations, hehe… Sure, we believe you…

Dr. Bragais was uber cool and I really appreciate her attitude towards the questions… No wonder Mo developed a crush on her, hehe…

That’s it, great show… Very funny!

Again, my apologies for the delayed blog… Unfortunately, this will be the norm rather than the exception for the coming weeks…

T’was a pretty laid back show today but I still found myself grinning from ear to ear particularly from caller Bea… She’s one funny girl… Getting ahead of myself again though…

Barack Obama vs. John McCain

With the US presidential election just a few weeks away, a caller asked Mo his opinion on the hotly contested race… Mo thinks that Obama will bury McCain with an avalanche of votes, in other words, he’ll win by a landslide… I hope so too, I like Barack… He’s very charismatic and he seems to have a solid plan for the US economy which impacts our own economy as well which is why I’m so interested in the results of their election…

And let’s face it, McCain is old, 72 years old… I mean, he’s positively ancient… Admittedly, he seems a bit spry for his age but his ideas are as old as he is which means his management style would probably be old school as well…

Go Barack!

Fees, fees and more fees

There was a topic raised by a caller regarding yesterday’s topic on tips, fees and other stupid charges… Mojo raised an interesting point about Meralco’s charges for system losses… I’m sure you’ve heard about this what with Juday espousing the Lopez’ propaganda on this barefaced highway robbery… I mean, being asked to pay for electricity theft and other power losses? How is that my problem?

A student from my alma mater called in and lamented the fact that parking fees are so high at UST… I couldn’t relate coz I rode the jeepney when I was still at UST… Mo asked him about the perennial flooding in Espana in front of UST and how students are often stranded in school and have to spend the night there… That happened to me quite often when I was still studying there… Oh and the stories about students getting the jiggy on while stranded overnight? Never happened to me unfortunately, hehe…

Food poisoning

A caller phoned in to ask if he could bring some food to the station and Mo started thinking that it’d be so easy to get rid of them by poisoning their food… The reason being is that they gobble down food brought by fans, food outlets and other people without a second thought…

Grace and Mojo said not to give the listeners any ideas, hehe…

Nah, who’d do that other than Mojo trying to get back at Mo?

The Vermin suspended

My man Mo got an early birthday present with the news that The Vermin, The Despicable One, Satan’s Offspring and she with the other lovely nicknames has been suspended indefinitely from The Buzz…

Woohoo! Mo sure got a kick out of that one… It almost topped the fact that Bamboo is going to have a birthday concert for him on the show next Tuesday…

Grace mentioned the fact that Brian Gorrell put up on his blog my post on an imaginary guesting The Vermin did for the Forbidden Questions of GTWM…

Bamboo!

Speaking of Bamboo, my man Mo gave us the scoop yesterday evening that indeed, Bamboo will be holding a concert on the Good times show this coming Tuesday…

That’s a big deal coz you never hear Bamboo doing a concert on any radio show…

Can’t wait for that and I do hope he sings HIMALA… Mo, start begging…

Who’s the oldest virgin out there?

Mo tried to revive the topic of the 105 year old virgin which I blogged about before by asking the callers to chime in and admit on air if they’re still a virgin…

I thought that there’d be a ton of callers claiming to be virgins with probably a lot of posers as well but, surprise, surprise, not a single caller gave their two cents…

So what does that tell you? No more virgins under the age of 16 in the Philippines? I really think they’re losing it earlier and earlier…

Geoff and Tisha

Geoff Rodriguez and Tisha Silang were on hand to promote The Amazing Race Asia as the Philippine representative to this around the world race… Last season they had Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez as the Philippine representative and they sure kicked ass, winning almost every leg of the race but unfortunately getting screwed by flags in the final leg…

Geoff (aka Michael Scofield) and Tisha are doing well so far but they can’t disclose any information outside of what’s currently showing on TV coz they’ll get penalized a whopping US$5,000,000.00  Yup, that many zeroes…

I like them though I haven’t seen all the episodes, I like their chemistry and I do hope they kick ass and romp off with the US$100,000.00 grand prize…

Wang Power Part 2

Remember Bea, the girl who was dating the loser with the anaconda stuffed down his pants? Well she called again today and she was dumped by her boyfriend who unfortunately heard her on air and dropped her like a hot potato…

I can empathize but realistically speaking that’s the best thing that could have happened to her… She’s young and there are just so many wangs out there! Maybe not quite as long…

I was laughing at Mo’s advice to her… “Buy a cucumber or something”… “I’ll introduce you to two African American friends I know…”

Geoff was more poetic… “Love is not measured by inches, or in this case meters or feet”

A ton of horndogs started texting in asking for the girl’s number, hehe… Boys will be boys!

Sports shows and hot girls

Finally, Mo talked about sports shows and the resident eye candy you can find on these shows… He said that he never even looked at the girls and was just interested in the box scores…

Another thing is the presence of hot girls at car shows and showrooms… He said that he wasn’t interested in the girls, just the car’s spec sheet… Hmmm, well can’t you do both Mo?

By the way, don’t forget to watch Mo’s show on ANC this coming Sunday at 8PM, it’s called iMO (In My Opinion with Mo Twister)… Damn good show last time… Mo in a different light (or at least during part of the show!)

Good Times with Mo (Oct. 15, 2008)

The dreaded Brown Lady

Technical problems hounded the show today and callers kept getting cut off and it really affected the quality of the show… Good thing the problem got partially fixed later in the day and some of the calls started going through… Provincial line was okay though…

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, let’s get started:

Too hip parents

Mo opened the show with the topic of parents who are too hip for their age… You know the type, 50 to 60 year old socialites who are still partying in Embassy with plunging necklines down to their navels and the DOM type with the earring in the left ear and the trophy girlfriend from Classmates or Pegasus…

Grace stated that one particular type of too hip dads which she dislikes are the ones in basketball jerseys with the long, long shorts (hmmm, isn’t that an oxymoron?)… Imagine John McCain dressed as Snoop Dog…

Mojo had another hilarious story about his dad who went through a phase when he thought he was Jamaican… Yeah, a 5’2″ Asian guy wearing brightly printed shirts and shorts without the dreadlocks dancing to reggae music… Probably talking like a Jamaican, too… Yeah MAN…

Lots of callers got cut off at this stage including a 50 something guy who confessed to Mo prior to being cut off that he not only wears an earring but he also has a “wang ring”…

Maria Korea as usual was scandalized by the “wang ring” idea… Mo offered to give Grace’s boyfriend a wang ring as a gift with Mo and Mojo guessing the ring size of Grace’s boyfriend…

Mo guessed  a size “3″ on a range of 1 to 7, hehe…

The guide to FWB’s

Mo steered the talk to another interesting topic he read on, surprise, surprise, CNN… The article, written by a lady, aims to provide a guide to having and maintaining an FWB (Friends with Benefits)… Also more commonly known here as FUBU’s (nope, it’s not the clothing brand)…

For the uninitiated, FWB’s or FUBU’s are people whom you have an intimite relationship with but with no strings attached… Meaning, for horndogs, manna from heaven…

Now back to the guide:

Language – be careful about the words you use… Pronouns such as “we”, “us” and “our” are to be avoided like the plague… This implies a level of togetherness which runs counter to the true principles of FWB… Start using these words and watch your FUBU head for the hills…

Meals - all meals in a formal setting (i.e. where you have to sit down and order) are to be avoided at all costs… This means breakfast, lunch, dinner, or brunch…. Acceptable meals are those which can be eaten in bed or standing up…

Conversations – Acceptable questions are “When can we meet?”, “Do you want to do it?” or “Your place or mine?”… Anything deeper than that including conversations pertaining to family, friends and other personal questions are strictly off limits…

Socializing - He doesn’t meet your friends, you don’t meet his. That goes double for family members. The best thing about having a FWB is that he’s your dirty little secret.

I agree with most of the recommendations here… Chime in if you have more tips and tricks to maintaining an FWB…

Haunted hospital visit

In line with the upcoming Halloween, Mo, Mojo, Grace and Andi9 are going to an abandoned hospital somewhere up North with a reputation for being haunted… They will be accompanied by ghostbusters and psychics… I’m not sure if Casper will be making an appearance, but you never know…

I don’t know if the visit is for a Good times on Studio 23 episode but it sure sounds like fun…

Ghost hunting anyone?

Japanese soldier ghost

Of course the talk turned to ghosts and the fact that Mo doesn’t believe they exist at all… In fact, he’s so confident that they’re bullcrap that he’ll go inside the haunted hospital alone with a night vision camera and probably do some cartwheels and use chalk to write 666 on the walls…

Resident radio diva Mojo Jojo naturally had his own share of creepy stories which everybody listened to while Mo was snorting in the background with snide comments like “You’re such a liar, Joseph”…

The gist of Mojo’s story was that he and his boyfriend together with some friends went up to Baguio and stayed at a place there for the night… According to him, the lights flickered and when the lights came on, they “saw” a Japanese soldier in full WWII battle regalia… Well, of course there had to be a kicker, eh? The kicker was that they saw the soldier in “sepia”, hehe… That killed it for me! I mean, why would the ghostly soldier be in sepia?

Wang power

There was an interesting caller named Bea who asked for advice from the gang on her love problem… Background: Bea has been with her boyfriend for 4 years (she’s around 21 now) and she’s really in love with the guy… Unfortunately, due to financial problems, the guy had to stop studying… he worked for a call center for a year but he stopped and he’s now basically a bum… A bum who loves playing computer games (probably DOTA), hehe…

Of course Mo, Mojo and Grace advised her to dump the loser but boy, was I surprised at her answer… She couldn’t dump him because he was such a good “lay”… His wang power had her mesmerized and she couldn’t leave him for fear that she would miss the rolls in the hay too much…

I mean the guy must have an anaconda down there and he must know how to use it…

Lucky bastard, hehe…

Mojo advised her that down the line 3 to 5 years from now, reality will hit her or the guy’s wang will finally slap some sense into her and she’ll really regret staying with the loser (albeit, a well hung one)…

Gratuities

Mo ended the show with a rather controversial topic involving the propriety of tipping waiters… Grace and Mojo chimed in that they don’t mind giving generous tips provided that they’re happy witht the service rendered by the server…

Mo was of the opinion that the job of the waiter isn’t really that hard and that they don’t deserve tips… Mojo countered that waiters are seriously underpaid and that they rely on tips to make a decent living…

I’d have to disagree with Mo on this one though… Much as I’d hate to admit it… I’m okay with giving tips for the same reason that Mojo and Grace had… If the waiters were polite and they go the extra mile to make you happy during your dinner, I think tips are really warranted…

I hate giving tips to “watch your car” boys who don’t really watch your car at all nor to the “atras” boys who seemingly appear out of thin air when you’re backing up your car and “help” you back out on a deserted street…
