The gang was finally complete today with our radio supermodel diva Mojo Jojo finally back from his vacation in Iloilo. I never thought I’d say this but I really missed Mojo and with him back, the show had a totally different energy to it… Great times!

Let’s look back at what happened on the show today:

Born again Christians

There was a fairly heated discussion early in the show about Born again Christians… Just a bit of a backgrounder, our Mojo Jojo has shown a strong indication that they’re not really his favorite people for a number of reasons but mainly because of their condemnation of homosexuality which naturally didn’t sit well with Mojo…

Mojo called them a “cult” and Mo asked him to repeat the word over and over again just to get him in trouble with Born again Christian listeners, hehe…

Best Boobs in Hollywood

Well of course after all that “pious” talk, Mo reverted back to his true self and decided to talk about one of the subjects nearest and dearest to his heart, boobies!. In Touch Magazine in the US recently released their top 10 list of the best boobs in Hollywood for 2008. Among the topnotchers were:

10.  Beyonce Knowles – nice booty, too…
9.  Megan Fox – Oh yeah, man! That scene in Transformers with her leaning over to fix the Camaro, sigh…
8.  Jennifer Aniston – Nah…
7.  Audrina Partridge – Check out egotastic.com, she’s whoring it up there…
6.  Katherine Heigl – Mo mentioned her breakout movie, “My Father the Hero” with Gérard Depardieu,  check it out, she was smoking hot in that movie…
5.  Lindsay Lohan – Nah, too droopy for me…
4.  Carmen Elektra – She’s old…
3.  Scarlett Johansson – Now, THAT’S what I’m talking about…
2.  Tyra Banks – she’s gone to Porkville, but her D’s are real…
1.  Jessica Simpson – WTF?

Best Boobs Among Local Celebrities

Of course Mohan couldn’t resist doing a local version of the self same survey but this time for local celebrities. However, as any true connoisseur would know, there are disagreements amongst even the horndogs on such a controversial topic:

Sorry but I couldn’t remember all the blessed ladies on the list because Mo went through it so quickly… And neither am I sure about the order:

10. Francine Prieto – definitely should not be at number 10, probably top 3 all time…
9. Rica Peralejo – too fake for me…
8. Grace Lee – #8 is kind of low for Grace with her D’s maybe because the twins are so rarely seen…
7. Angel Locsin – yeah baby… Darna anyone?
6. Angelica Panganiban – I’d switch places with Derek Ramsey in a heartbeat…
5. I missed one… 😦
4. Katya Santos – Mo saw them up close and personal, lucky Mo!
3. Ehra Madrigal – some of the most perfect ones I’ve seen… and they’re au naturel….
2. Sunshine Cruz – one of my favorite squeeze off celebs…
1. Maureen Larazabal – again fake boobies but Mo’s right, the doctor who did this should be commended!

Some other notables who Mo failed to mention are Ruffa Mae Quinto, Jessa Zaragosa, Jennifer Lee, Ana Leah Javier (Hot babes) and a whole slew of others…

Freeloaders

A good deal of time was spent on discussing freeloaders… Especially relatives, siblings, cousins, uncles and aunts who rely on their well off relatives for financial assistance… In other words, Le Parasite…

My take on this is that yes, if we’re filthy rich we definitely need to share the wealth around but if we’re just okay, meaning not too rich and not too poor either, then we shouldn’t be the “HOST” to their “PARASITE”…

Some of these freeloaders are just too shameless, hehe… And the worst thing is that if you yourself are strapped for cash and cannot give money to them, they’d get angry with you and call you an ingrate… Geez, what’s up with that?

What’s your take on this? Do you have parasitic relatives you need to get rid off? I’d recommend Combantrin, it kills roundworms, tapeworms and other critters… 🙂

Himala again

Mo played for the 2nd straight day, Bamboo’s live rendition of one of the best OPM songs of all time, HIMALA for Mojo Jojo’s benefit…

It never gets old, and I wouldn’t mind if they added that version to their regular playlist… 🙂

Goosebump inducing indeed!

Hong Kong and Macau

The gang will be in Macau and Hong Kong over the weekend as part of Magic 89.9’s annual overseas trip for  regular DJ’s. Now isn’t that a nice perk… I wish all companies were like that!

Have fun in Hong Kong and Macau guys!

Categories Game

The lame game called the Categories Game made a comeback today for prizes comprising of GC’s courtesy of Fruit Magic… First category played was relatively interesting… Philippine dialects with Mo giving Visaya as a dialect… Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Visaya is a dialect per se… The dialects falling under Visaya I believe would be: Waray, Cebuano, Ilonggo, etc… Mo won this round versus the caller…

Second category was Philippine fruits with Grace Lee going up against another female caller… The caller was very good with such native delicacies as Duhat and bayabas being mentioned… Needless to say, Grace lost this one, hehe…

Great to have Mojo Jojo back… For all the bitching that Mo does regarding Mojo, I think the show is indeed so much better with Mojo around… He gives the show the “gay” touch which is just so funny…

Great times!

iMO In My Opinion with Mo Twister (Oct. 12, 2008)

Sunday nights are normally pretty laid back and I often find myself channel surfing to find some interesting show to watch… Failing that, I just copy my latest downloads to my USB card and watch it on TV…

Now comes my man Mo Twister with a brand spanking new show on the ANC channel… ANC is known mostly for “serious” programming and so I was pleasantly surprised that my man Mo got a show on the said station…

The format kind of reminds me of the talk shows of Jay Leno or David Letterman…The show is basically divided into two segments:

  1. iMo Mo’s Most Wanted Hitlist
  2. The Couch

iMo Mo’s Most Wanted Hitlist

This section of the show is more freewheeling and my favorite part, thus far… Mo talks about the latest headlines and topics of interest and puts his own perverted “twist” to it… Let’s run down the hitlist, one by one:

Reproductive Health Bill

Up first is the news that the Catholic Church is up in arms over this bill which seeks to promote government subsidized genocide of literally billions of little swimmers in the latex death trap known as condoms… I found the soundbytes amusing when mouthed by those hypocrites in Congress who’ve never had to work a day in their life and are enjoying the trappings of their office at the expense of the poorest of the poor…

Here’s Mo’s top 10 reasons why condoms should have been given out for free a long, long, long time ago…

10. Miriam Defensor Santiago– imagine if there were twins or triplets of Miriam? Perish the thought…
9. Raul Gonzales – isn’t he so adorabe you just want to choke him to death?
8. Manoling Morato -he’s out of the limelight, thank God, but his antics will live in our nightmares  forever…
7. The Abu Sayaff -terrorists anyone?
6. Tim Yap – snort, snort… Gucci, Chanel and YSL would be so sorry to lose your business…
5. George Bush Sr. – simply for the reason that we wouldn’t have our entry at number 4 without him…
4. George Bush Jr. – that’s right, you little genius you…
3. Sulpicio Lines Management – yeah, floating coffins with an engine…
2. Jobert Sucaldito – wouldn’t you just love to go to his house and shave off that lettuce patch he calls hair?
1. Cristy Fermin – You knew that the vermin was coming, huh? Nuff said…

Banana split girls

It’s the promise of comedy in the form of scantily clad girls and it premiered last Saturday night on ANC’s mother station, ABS-CBN… It stars:

  1. Cristy Fermin – nah, just kidding…it’s actually Roxanne Guinoo
  2. Angelica Panganiban
  3. Christine Reyes
  4. Valerie Concepcion

Mo showed some clips from a press conference the girls had to promote the show and they looked like they were bored out of their brains during the press junket…

Angelica had a particularly stupid line: She said, and I quote verbatim:

Para sa akin kasi yung comedy nasa sa yo, nasa pagiging natural mo yun bilang tao eh… So kasi po pinanganak talaga ako para sa show na ito eh…

Really? Your destiny in this universe, your sole reason for being born is to star in this stupid show? Tsk, tsk, Angelica my dear, you were destined for greater things, like being the image young boys relieve their pubescent imaginations on… Come on, you’re selling yourself short…

Texting while driving

Mo talked about this new law being proposed which will essentially prevent people from texting or otherwise using their cellphones while driving…

He doesn’t have a beef with the new law and I don’t have one either but why zero in on texting when we don’t have a minimum alcohol provision in our laws… Drunk driving is inherently more dangerous than texting I would think… The Philippines is one of the few countries in the world without such a provision… Probably along with Mongolia, Tibet and Kazakhstan… Well, at least according to Borat…

Interestingly, drunk driving is penalized P20,000.00 without jail time while texting is penalized P100,000.00 with 6 months of jail time… Makes sense?

Pinoyparazzi sued by Mocha girls

The all female group Mocha girls sued the tattle rag Pinoyparazzi when they published pictures of the group members kissing…

The girls said that their careers could be ruined because their audience were men and that allegations of lesbianism would turn off their intended audience…

Hmmm, au contraire my dears, do you know of any horndogs who would be turned off by girl to girl action? Menage a troi, anyone?

Ateneo toasts Lasalle

Mo related the story of Ateneo burning the names of the Lasalle players written on logs which formed part of the celebratory bonfire of Ateneo in apparent retaliation for the middle finger given to them by one of Lasalle’s player…

Hmmm, I couldn’t care less, I’m from UST, hehe…

The Couch

Special guest for the first edition of The Couch was feminist and Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist, Rina Jimenez David talking about the provisions of the Reproductive Health Bill…

The wide ranging discussions ran the gamut from condom use, abortion and her children’s possible use of condoms… 🙂

I find Rina brilliant and read her columns regularly at PDI… Cool mom, as well…

Edgardo Sureza  of Pro-life Philippines presented the opposing view on the RH bill being discussed and I found his views strange… From sex education and the use of natural rhythm method… His arguments just didn’t have a leg to stand on…

Most of his arguments were non-sequitur…

I was observing Mo and he totally disagreed with Ed Sureza’s views…

I don’t want to discuss this too much but I’m sure that 80% of Filipinos, even Katoliko Sagrados would agree that we need to practice some form of birth control other than the notoriously unreliable rhythm method…

Great show, Mo… I look forward to next week’s episode…

Good times!

Good times with Mo (Sept. 22, 2008)

Woohoo! My man Mo Twister is back and boy was he back with a vengeance… The show was hilarious, very entertaining and I had a good laugh listening to the show… Time just seems to fly when you’re having fun!

On to the show’s highlights:

Edward Cullen

As is normal during the early part of the show, most of the talk centered on rather “safe” topics… Mainly I think because of the younger callers listening to the show on their way to school…

I just noticed a recurring theme on the show, it seems that the trio keeps going back to the topic of the Twilight series and its devastatingly handsome but bloodthirsty hero, Edward Cullen… The movie version of this vampire novel aimed at young adults is set to be shown this November with Robert Pattinson playing the role of Edward Cullen… Coincidentally, Robert also played the role of another very handsome fictional character, Cedric Diggory of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire… Hmmm, Robert seems to be typecast in this “devastatingly handsome” roles… That must be a nice problem to have… 🙂

A caller chimed in that he thought Daniel Radcliffe or Shia LaBouf would be perfect for the role of Edward Cullen… Mojo and Mo disagreed, saying those two guys were “ugly”, hehe… I’m sure a lot of Harry Potter fans would disagree…

Adidas Jacket controversy

A rather unfortunate thing happened recently… Apparently, a government representative has asked Adidas to cease and desist from production of the much sought after Adidas Philippine flag jacket which I’ve been admiring for quite some time now… It’s been pretty much unavailable for quite a while now (sold out) and now its value has just risen sky high…

The reason cited by the Adidas representative interviewed by Mo was that there is a Philippine law regulating the use of the Philippine flag and other national heraldic symbols… And Adidas’ use of it in their clothing line wasn’t “approved”…

Mo raised a good point that in other countries like England, you pretty much see the Union Jack in all sorts of things like bikinis and thongs… I think the Adidas jacket was in very good taste and pretty much says “I’m proud to be Pinoy!”…

What’s your take on this?

Grace Lee, Filipino or Korean?

A caller named Grace, called in and expressed her dislike for her namesake’s use of the terms “we” or “us” when identifying herself with Filipinos… Grace Lee normally freely uses terms like “we Filipinos” to make a point or it just happens naturally in the course of conversation… Whilst being a full blooded Korean and being born in Korea, Grace has lived most of her life here in the Philippines…

Grace’s (the caller) premise for her argument was that legally, either one or both of your parents have to be a Filipino for you to be qualified as a Filipino… Well that argument just effectively deletes half of the Philippine population with pure Chinese, Japanese, Korean or whatever ancestry they may have who consider themselves as Filipinos…

Mojo is an American citizen (of Filipino parentage) and Mo is of half Indian, half Filipino descent… I believe that amongst the three Grace is the most Filipino in terms of traits, Filipino speaking skills and even mannerisms… Regardless, they’re all very proud of their Filipino heritage and are undoubtedly very patriotic…

Just my opinion, but I truly believe that being Filipino is what’s in your heart and not what a piece of paper says… Just my take…

What about you, my dear readers? Chime in with your opinions below…

Oh by the way, the gold medal winner of the last Beijing Olympics in the demonstration sport of wushu, is of pure Chinese descent and is unfortunately named Willie Wang… Mo just couldn’t resist getting that one in… 🙂

Hottest Celebrity Showdown (KC Concepcion vs. Angelica Panganiban)

I thought this match would be much tighter but KC just blew Angelica out of the water… Mo opined that while both these hotties are just one cheeseburger away from putting on 20 pounds, at this point they’re at the peak of their hotness and are both drop dead gorgeous…

Grace Lee went with Angelica, Mojo went with Angelica but later rescinded his vote and went with KC… Miguel went with Angelica but the callers and texters, almost 90% went with KC… My man Mo went with KC as well…

After a shaky start, KC runs away with this one…

Next up, the BIG ONE… KC vs. Anne… Yeah, I know what you’re thinking… this one’s rigged in favor of Anne, hehehe… We’ll see…

Marimar audition clip

The Youtube clip you’re seeing above is an old audition tape showing the biggest GMA stars auditioning for the role of Marimar after Angel Locsin left the station for rival ABS-CBN… It was apparently leaked by a GMA insider and posted on Youtube…

It’s amusing to see the two would-be mothers auditioning for the show, Jennylyn Mercado and Camille Pratts… All the big names were there, Rhiann Ramos, Nancy Castiglione, Katrina Halili and of course, eventual Marimar winner, Marian Rivera… Check it out…

Of sagging breasts and gays over 30

Mo proposed a theory that gays over 30 are officially useless and are basically over the hill, hehe… With Mojo’s 30th birthday coming up, he got some good natured ribbing from Mo about how his “whoring” life is over… Pretty harsh Mo, pretty harsh… 🙂

Oh and yeah, Mo’s predicting that Grace will have sagging breasts just like her Grandma who had to literally pick them up off the floor… Not with Dr. Vicky Belo just a phone call away, counters Grace… Too funny!

Accountants wanted in Africa

A caller phoned in with regards to job openings in Africa for accountants… So if you’re a CPA and want to earn in dollars, up to USD2,000.00 per month according to the caller… Dial this number 09178656534… By the way, you must have a valid passport and the offer is in the Republic of Congo and Mali

Nope it’s not a joke, the company’s name is La Plata…

Look it up first before deciding… That’s my public service message for the day! 🙂

Till next time, I’m out of here…

Good times!

Nope, you’re not lost, I’ve just changed the theme of my blog…

Just to get some boring stuff out of the way, I’ve updated my blog with some changes including my About Me page because Mo and Grace have told me on-air that they don’t know who the author of this blog is…  Although I haven’t completely revealed my identity, I’ve added more information just to let you guys know a bit more about your humble author… I’ve also added a chat facility through Meebo where you can chat with me (if I’m online, that is) or leave me an offline message. Alternatively, you can also leave your comments and I do read ALL comments posted on my blog, so knock yourself out…

Now, on to the good stuff… The trio was incomplete today with Grace extending her Hong Kong stay till today but Miguel ably filled in for our favorite Korean DJ.  Mo, Mojo and Grace together with Andi9 were in Hong Kong over the weekend filming for the Hong Kong episode of Good Times on Studio 23… The good news is that Grace will be back tomorrow…

Manny Villar clarifies issue

Senate President Manny Villar sent a letter to clarify the issue that regular Good Times caller Bien phoned in early this week with regards to alleged statements made by Villar at a Senate hearing wherein our favorite show was labelled obscene or indecent (I forgot which)… Anyway, the issue pissed off a lot of Good Times’ listeners (including yours truly) but the good senator clarified that he never said those statements and that he supported freedom of speech and so on and so forth… I guess Mo forgave him and that means all is well between Manny Villar and the millions of Good Times listeners… 🙂

Hottest Celebrity Showdown (ABS-CBN bracket)

For today’s edition of Hottest Celebrity showdown for the ABS-CBN bracket… It’s 6th seeded Angelica Panganiban vs. 5th seed Betty La Fea (Bea Alonzo) duking it out for bragging rights for the most prestigious award in all of radio… Poor Bea, she got whitewashed in this one, as the combination of an awesome rack coupled with the angelic face of Ms. Panganiban successfully convinced the callers and our hosts that this was a virtual no contest… One caller went so far as to say that whilst Bea is pretty and all, she just does not inspire his libido… I’ll have to agree with him on this one… 🙂

Angelica sweeps Bea and moves on to the 2nd round…

Art anyone?

My man Mo then steered the conversation to the world’s ridiculously expensive paintings and their disproportionately pleasing aesthetics… I took a look at the top notcher No. 5, 1948 (see above), an abstract painting by artist Jackson Pollock, and I see the point… I mean, if you had the money, would you pay US$140,000,000.00 for that? Admittedly, my eyes are not trained to discern the beauty and whatever vision the artist sought to convey with his art. You can call me old fashioned but I like paintings where I can at least see the subject… 🙂

My readers are smart so I’d appreciate your take on this one…

Sexy drinks

From art to porn (I love this show) the topic moved to the subject of alcoholic drinks and as is his wont, my man Mo noticed that a majority of drinks are named suggestively (read sexy)… Some of the ones that I know of are:

  1. Blowjob
  2. Screaming Orgasm
  3. Sex on the Beach
  4. Wet Pussy
  5. Between the Sheets

and the list goes on… And before you ask, I’ve heard of them, but never tried them… Well, the drinks at least… 🙂 Mojo was of the opinion that the reason for the suggestive nature of the names was that it was some sort of gimmick intended to boost sales and it was hip to name drinks after sex…

My take on it is that bars are by nature seething with sexual energy and this is just a great way to further enhance that atmosphere… 🙂 Or make the girl so drunk that you’ll get laid…

Mo’s Lucky Me secret recipe

A caller chimed in with an opinion about the drinks and then steered the topic to Mo’s unique recipe for cooking Lucky Me instant pancit canton… Call me baduy but I love Lucky Me, it’s a staple diet and I never leave the grocery without at least 5 packs of Lucky Me… 🙂 In my opinion, Lucky Me is one of the greatest inventions of modern man, along with C2, hehe…

How to make Mo’s Lucky Me pancit canton:

  1. First you need to cook the noodles in the usual manner (i.e. boiling) but stop cooking once the noodles are slightly cooked through (sort of like al dente)… Take them out of the water and reserve…
  2. Next, mix the sauce powder, oil and liquid seasoning together and heat them separately (add a little more oil to the mixture)…
  3. Lastly, place a little oil in a non-stick pan and do a quick stir fry of the noodles before mixing in the sauce… Serve immediately…

I haven’t tried this way of cooking of Lucky Me but I’ll do it tonight and I’ll let you know the results… If you try this recipe, kindly chime in and let me know how it goes… 🙂

Hottest Celebrity Showdown (GMA bracket)

And to close the show, we had the GMA bracket of the contest that’s sweeping the nation, Good Times’ Hottest Celebrity Showdown, with 7th seeded Rhiann Ramos taking on the highly ranked, Heart Evangelista, seeded no. 2…

Mojo went with Heart, as did Miguel… The callers were divided but the majority chose Rhiann over Heart… One of the funnier reasons put forth by the all male callers was that Heart reminded them too much of Jericho! If you’re a true heterosexual male then that’s a true boner killer… I guess that’s why Mojo selected Heart, hehe…

Well, the gist of the arguments was that Rhiann was a fresh face and that Heart has been in the business for quite a long time… Mo cited Rhiann’s attitude and personality with Heart having the unfortunate reputation of being a snob… Mo votes for Rhiann on this one…

The final tally wasn’t even close and thus 7th seeded Rhiann scores an upset of epic proportions over the highly touted Heart Evangelista… She moves on to the 2nd round… Good luck, Rhiann! 🙂

Well, that’s the show in a nutshell… Hope you enjoy the read, please chime in with your comments, they’re always welcome… Although sometimes I may not respond to all your comments, rest assured that I read them all…

By the way, I added a link section, titled “Friends of Good Times”, wherein I put in the links of the readers who left a link on my comment section… If, for some reason you want the link removed, just drop me a line and I’ll zap it… Please link back to my blog if you enjoy reading it so that more people can check out my blog… 🙂

Till next time… I’m out of here…

Good times!
