We're #76 worldwide in WordPress

I just noticed that the one month anniversary of my blog has passed and I’m truly thankful and actually quite a bit overwhelmed by the response that the site has received from my fellow Good Times’ listeners. The site has received a high level of interaction from the fans of the Good times show and also from the show’s hosts with Mo, Mojo, Grace Lee and even Miguel getting in touch with me either through this blog, on-air or through private messages…

If you would indulge me, I’d just like to toot my own horn and share some statistics and milestones about the site so far…

  1. August 12, 2008 – the site went online with my very first post – “10 things I love about the Good times show”
  2. August 28, 2008 – I post the Vaclair commercial and promote it on other sites… As a result, the site gets 315 views with the Vaclair airline commercial getting the most views…
  3. Sept. 1, 2008 – Grace Lee mentions the site on-air for the first time, and praises it as being better than their own multiply site… The site breaks the 1,000 view barrier and gets 1,035 views! A milestone…
  4. Sept 2 – 4, 2008 – the site averages nearly 1,000 visitors a day before dropping off sharply during the weekends…
  5. Sept 5, 2008 – I submit the site to www.topblogs.com.ph to see how the site compares to other top Philippine blogs in my niche (entertainment & lifestyle)… The site comes in at a lowly #145
  6. Sept. 11, 2008 – I post the transcript of the Janice de Belen Forbidden Questions and the site got 2,109 page views… Another milestone… Meanwhile the overall site hits climbs past 10,000 hits… Top Blog ranking hits #50…
  7. Sept. 16, 2008 – I receive a message from Mo asking me to post the ghastly Boy Abunda billboard on my blog so that the viewers can check it out while they talk about it the following day… The site goes viral with 5,492 hits for that day’s show… Top blog ranking hits #20

As of this writing, the site has a total of 21,043 hits with a Philippine Top Blog ranking of #22 and here’s the kicker, the site is ranked #76 worldwide for all WordPress blogs! Check it out here… It’s a big deal because there are literally millions of WordPress blogs worldwide…

Again, my deepest appreciation for my dear readers and of course to our favorite hosts Mo, Mojo, Grace and Miguel… This blog is for you guys!

Keep reading and supporting our favorite morning show!

Good times!

Good times with Mo (Sept. 16, 2008)

Funny show today with Mo causing a traffic jam in front of Boy Abunda’s billboard along EDSA near Robinson’s Pioneer… But I’m getting ahead of myself, here’s the show’s recap in its natural order:

Young Love

Early in the show, most callers are students on their way to school and a very young caller phoned in to a ask Professor Mo’s advice on her love problem…

Her young beau apparently left abroad after their brief relationship (less than a month) and she was heartbroken…

As adults we tend to brush these things aside but when you’re young everything tends to get magnified and you feel like it’s the end of the world…:)

It’s good though that Mo does take the time to talk to these young callers and I’ll have to say, he gives very sensible advice… Props Professor Mo…

Of Cruel Intentions and lost innocence

The topic then shifted to Grace Lee and how she lost her virginity… Apparently she was moved by the movie Cruel Intentions and the beautifully shot “love making” scenes in the movie… End result, cherry popped… ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ll have to give it to girls though, they can weave the most imaginatively romantic stories around how they lost their virginities… For guys, it’s basically, wham bam thank you mam… I mean, being the horndogs that we are, we just can’t wait to lose it and I would say that the vast majority didn’t particularly care how they lost it, as long as they did it with a girl and not with their hands… ๐Ÿ™‚

Sex Education

Do you still remember how you learned about the birds and the bees? Well, according to Mojo, his dad sat him down with his brothers and gave them a lecture about using protection with their girlfriends (Mojo was straight then)… ๐Ÿ™‚

Both Grace and Mo studied in St. Paul and for Grace at least, the “evils” of pre-marital sex were taught in a rather gross manner with the showing of abortion videos… I mean that’s pretty gross with a video of the abortive procedure being shown to young and impressionable girls… I just can’t hang with that…

Mo showed a video to the two “girls” of a pretty graphic sex education video complete with an “insider” view of the act, and I do mean “inside”… ๐Ÿ™‚

Mo said he’ll upload it somewhere… We’ll see… Though I hardly think it’ll inspire your libidos… But then again, you never know…

Hottest Celebrity Showdown (ABS-CBN bracket)

We’re nearing the end of our search for the most prestigious award in all of radio, Good Times’ย  Hottest Celebrity Showdown… Today’s combatants for the ABS-CBN bracket were both highly touted and predictably, the contest went down the wire with Lobo’s Angel Locsin taking on the Diyosa, Anne Curtis…

Now, Mo’s never made a secret of the fact that he thinks Anne is uber hot but during the early goings, Angel looked headed for a stunning upset with caller after caller voting for Angel Locsin… But in the end with Mo putting his foot down, the win eventually went to Anne Curtis… If I recall correctly, Mojo was for Angel and Mo and Grace went for Anne…

A lot of callers were pissed that Anne won but hey, it’s his show and what my man Mo says goes… It was Pacquiao-Marquez II close… and so Anne moves on to face the winner of the KC Concepcion vs. Angelica Panganiban showdown…

Boy Abunda Billboard

On to the billboard… Mo asked me to post the picture on the blog’s front page so that the listeners can check it out while they talked about it…

A lot of words were thrown around during the show (none were flattering) including last night wherein blog reader Carol said that the billboard was scary and could cause serious psychological damage to a child, hehe…

A listener texted in and said that there was a traffic jam along EDSA in front of the billboard during the show, hehe… Blame Mo Twister if you were late coz of the traffic… ๐Ÿ™‚

A caller said the billboard reminded him of Pinhead of Hellraiser fame… But personally, I thought they were going for the Morpheus look as played by Laurence Fishburne in the Matrix trilogy… A gay version of him though… ๐Ÿ™‚

What do guys think?

Hottest Celebrity Showdown (GMA bracket)

And finally, to close the show we had the GMA bracket of the Hottest Celebrity Showdown with the classy Iza Calzado taking on the “whore hot” Ehra Madrigal…

I mean if the category was purely boner inspiring material this would be a no contest… I mean Iza Calzado is the girl you bring home to Mom but Ehra is the girl youย  have an affair with… ๐Ÿ™‚

Again, a close fight with other horndogs voting for Ehra and Mo, Mojo and Grace going with the classy Iza Calzado… It’s really a matter of taste and as I said it’s Mo’s show… ๐Ÿ™‚

Iza moves on to final round… Good luck Iza!

Quote of the day:

I want to put a baby in her…
by Mo Twister…

Awwwwww, how poetic…

Good times!

Blog reader Chi clued me in to a Boy Abunda billboard that’s now causing a lot of laughter along EDSA and probably some accidents as well…ย  Although I haven’t seen the billboard personally, I did some research and saw a picture of it on the net. It’s for Boy Abunda’s new perfume line and the tagline is a killer: “Kaibigan, nagpabango ka na ba?” ROTFLMAO

Mo asked me to post a picture here for tomorrow’s show and I can’t wait for the reaction from other Good times’ listeners when they see this piece of advertising brilliance, hehe…

Go check it out yourself when you pass by EDSA, according to blog reader Marie, there are some other versions of the same billboard with the same theme located along EDSA near Robinson’s Pioneer…

Definitely some serious competition for the notorious ELLEN billboards…

I can’t wait to shake the hand of the creative genius who thought up this monstrosity, hahaha… And you know what? It’s too early for Halloween!

Damn, tomorrow’s show should be hilarious!

Good times!
